Hira (Mir Mohammad Sharif Uddin) is a Bangladeshi-Canadian singer-songwriter based in Ottawa, has been writing and composing since 2000, blending soulful lyricism with acoustic melodies. Influenced by social, political, and philosophical themes, his songs explore emotional disconnection, urban isolation, and the search for meaning.
Hira was the founding member of Dhaka's indie band "7th Fret", performing across Canada and Bangladesh, including at FOBANA 2001 and various radio and TV appearances. After years of writing quietly, he is now stepping back into the spotlight. His latest project — the single “ বিবর্ণ কথামালা | Biborno Kothamala ” — accompanied by a hand-crafted watercolor-style music video, is set for release in Summer 2025.
